My Wonderlands
My inspiration for this project arises from painterly traditions and cinematic landscapes, where digital imaging serves as a new medium through which to express my vision of utopia. My Wonderlands reconsiders the notion of the 'cinematographic' image, blending Eastern and Western pictorial influences into a cohesive visual language. The series unfolds within a fictional universe — rooted in echoes of the real world, yet untethered to any specific place or setting. Through vivid colours and theatrical juxtapositions, these composite photographs accentuate depth and scale, giving form to imagined worlds. I believe that when we pause to observe the intricacies within these large-scale works, our imagination can awaken alternate realities. This project seeks to convey a layered narrative through a distinct and meticulously crafted visual style. While it appears to explore the scenario between realism and surrealism, it also reflects on the evolving relationship between painting and photography, challenging conventional boundaries and inviting the viewer into a dialogue between the real and the imagined.
All works in this series are created without the use of AI generation and are available in a monochromatic version.
